This is TOTALLY made from a Simply Scrappin kit (starting on page 176 in the large 2010-2011 Idea Book & Catalog)..Those kits have cardstock and all the stickers, cardstock and other accents, needed to make a project like this...of course, they're great for super quick scrap pages too! You can also use them for cards--here's just 10 of the cards I made and I have about 60% of the kit still LEFT !!! Talk about economical. So check them out stampers--

For My Little Glitter Girl

If you have been around Stampin Up for awhile, you'll remember several years ago, we had paper templates that we just punched out and stamped. While cleaning my stamp loft (HOW did I accumulate all that stuff?) I found some sheets for a really cute little purse. With a quick ball fringe handle and some stamping with the Flower Fest set from the new Summer Mini (you can order it May 1st), I have a cute little gift purse for my granddaughter. And since she is the Princess of Glitter, I've added some of our rhinestones on the crown. But I know her smile will out sparkle any rhinestone going...Can't wait to give it to her....now to find something cute for my grandson...

A creative weekend

One of the really great things about being a Stampin Up demo is that we can get items from the mini catalogs at least a month in advance. I couldn't wait to use these cool stamps from the set called Sunny Fun. So I made these bag tags for my granddaughter. They can be used for luggage, backpacks, even purses. Don't you just love these bright colors, Tangerine Tango, Daffodil Delight and Melon Mambo...all from the Brights collection. You can click on the picture for a close up view

Hi Stampers,

Don't forget the Easter Class, scheduled for this coming Saturday, April 9th from 1-4 pm at my house. We will be making Easter Baskets, cards, a carrot gift/candy holder, all for a $20.00 fee. I'm posting my Oct, Nov and Dec class dates as a blog entry here, so you can just print it out, however,I will also be posting to my SU site AND to my Facebook page as well. For Facebook, you can just do a search for "the stamp medic" and then you can "like" it and you'll get updates. For this blog, you can sign up to receive email updates. Also on this blog, you will see a "calendar" and my classes will also be posted there. This is on the right side of my blog and called "upcoming events".. Thursday, October 28th 7-9 pm...Class planner class...we will be making an adorable, folding class planner with check off lists, etc for all your holiday planning. Also makes an adorable gift. We will also be doing several other items....The fee for this is $20.00, payable via Paypal...there's a button on my blog page.
Some of you really want to do this class but can't attend due to other committments. If I have a guarantee of 5 people, I could also do this class Tues, Oct 26th but I must have 5 people guaranteed and prepaid.

Well stampers, it's not exactly holiday fare, but here's a gift bag I made for a bonfire we're going to this evening. It is filled with marshmallows, Hershey bars and graham crackers...mmmmmmm
This uses our adorable Under the Stars set. It's hard to see but I have blue beads in the star shapes and I've colored the marshmallow part of the s'mores with our white paint pen. The tail of the raccoon has puff paint on it....

Well Stampers, classes are now scheduled for all of your holiday needs. I will be returning to the Stamp a Stack format, as well as specialty classes, a scrapbook night and other class types as we go through the seasons. For those of you who haven't stamped with me before, Stamp a Stack classes are: you will make 5 cards EACH of 3 different designs, envelopes ARE included and the class fee is normally $15.00. Specialty classes usually have 3D items, which make wonderful gifts, often a shaped card box and we made the cards to go in it. These classes can be $20-25 depending on the supply items used. I also have a night with no charge at all, where you can bring your projects and work on them; I often show you new SU projects, talk about upcoming classes, help you with design, etc. I try to schedule my classes Fri nights, Sat afternoons and Sunday afternoons to accommodate all schedules. If there is enough demand, I will also offer the class a second time. The class fees include all materials except your Monoadhesive. I ask you, by the second class you attend, to bring your own scissors, cutter and bone folder, all of which can be ordered through me if you decide. I always provide Sticky Strip for those classes which require it.
If you've never stamped before and would just like to come and watch the first time, you are most welcome.

Hi Stampers,
Well, for over 10 years now, you've been listening to me praise Stampin Up as a great company towork with and coming to my classes, events and getting FREE goodies for having a workshop. I hope you can see how cute this box is. It's a round box, between two of our chipboard bird pieces and is a class offered by my demo friend, Gretchen. So clever. The box holds adorable 3 x 3 cards that are made with the Big Shot. I'm telling you, if you don't have this item, it is THE one item to get. Not only can you use it for papercrafts, but stand by for a future post and you'll see it used for fabric!

Sneak Peek from Saturdays' class

Here's just a small peek at one of the projects we will be making at Saturday's class.

And this is all made from SCRAP paper. The box top is the brown chocolate chip item at the top left and the rest of the box is the pink box on the top right. All the other items are small 3 x 3 gift cards that fit inside, it gets all tied up with some of our new satin ribbon to make a great gift.

Love what you do....what a great idea. How many of us truly love what we do everyday? I can honestly say I LOVE working for Stampin Up and meeting so many of you.

Now that I have my surgical schedule squared away, I have classes planned and they will be posted within a day or two. In the meantime, I wanted to show you a few photos from my recent trip. I've got a great Valentines class planned and some new uses for the Big Shot. If you got money for Christmas, make the Big Shot your treat to yourself....there is so much you can do with it.

The lady on stage is Shelli Gardner, the Co-founder and CEO of Stampin Up. Shelli is one

of the most amazing people and at events, she will be walking in the halls and just strike up a conversation with you, because she truly cares what WE want from her company. And she considers it OUR company too. Many of the suggestions we've made over the years have become implemented at Stampin' Up. How great is that! Hi Stampers,

Well, I've finally gotten squared away with some medical problems and can now proceed to plan classes for the New Year. I missed seeing all your smiling faces and hope you got all your Christmas wishes. This is Bree, in the new bed her "daddy" got her. She never had one and I didn't think she would use it, but now, we can't get her out of it!

I cancelled one surgery, which I was supposed to have in January however I will be "going under the knife" in March, but until then, I'm planning classes. I'm also heading out next week for Leadership and will be coming home with great ideas to share with you. Sellabration is coming up (free stamps), and I can't wait to show you our new Clear Mount Stamps, new punches, and beautiful Designer Series Papers for Valentine's Day and Spring.

I hope to be posting more in 2010, doing video "classes" for easy techniques, etc.

In the meantime, my beautiful granddaughter turned 7 but we had her party with the "kids" today. But I was the one who got the present. Look at this great pic. Isn't she adorable?

So here is my granddaughter Johanna, who came over and hand stamped her own birthday party invitations. Of course, like all the kids, she's into skulls and things and used this Just Jawin' set. She is a girly girl so we put some glitter in the eyes... Don't know if you can see it but when she arrived, she was dressed in crossbones and skulls, sweater and shirt. Plus the pink earrings...Too cute! She was thrilled and did a great job. A demonstrator in the making!!

Well, I have a little double meaning going on here...I'm bad because I said I would not do any more My Design Studio designs until I had all my classes posted, and that's the title of this latest page...Here's our granddaughter, on her first day of school, 2009. I Photoshopped the photo to get our numerous things in the background, renamed and saved it and then used it in one of the premade templates. Total time? Less than 10 minutes, including all the editing, which took about 8 minutes........Love it!.

Okay girls, I'm going to start to serve cheese with your whines! (wines).. I know you are anxious about our Fall projects. Here's a sneak peak! I'm going to be doing TWO Halloween classes because I have so many projects I want to do. I will be including those milk cartons you've been clamoring for, some cute little candy holders for the small Hershey or Twix-type candybars and so many other ideas! Here's a project just to whet your appetite. The original idea came from a fellow demonstrator, who has the most amazing project ideas, Sandi MacIver. It is an adorable candy holder--a little hard to see from my photo, but it's a small Sizzix box, wrapped with cardstock/DSP. You can almost hear the birds squalking. Dates and information for the classes will be up by tomorrow evening, along with some additional photos. Stop whining already!!

Well, it's been quite some time since I've been this excited about a Stampin' Up product and you all know how I go on and on about our Designer Series Papers, but I just got our new Design Studio software today and look at what I made in all of 4 minutes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This program is amazing. It is a digital scrapbooking program that will be available to customers in October. However you have the option to add physical elements on the page after you have printed it out.

You can either print it directly from your home printer, save it and have it professionally printed or, Stampin' Up will be offering printing options, similar to other online printing services, so you can make your own scrapbooks and have them shipped to you. Can you believe this page?

Well I promised you a look at the new Sweet Centers Stamp Set (available Sept 1, in the new Holiday Mini Catalog) and here it is. Isn't this adorable. The only candy I had on hand was Sweet Tarts so it might be hard to see--I live by the candy in the house rule...if it's in the house, I eat it!! So, I try not to have any available. This set also comes with a Halloween insert and a heart that would be adorable for Valentines Day or any occasion of love!! The acrylic "cup" inserts into the hole you make with the 1 3/4 inch punch and has adhesive on the front so it holds tight...I'll try to make another sample tomorrow!

One Sheet Wonder Class

Yes, it's true. The catalogs have finally made it. So be prepared for my Open House. More from the Fire

This is the 2nd page. See yesterday's post for the first. I like to tell a story, especially since our family is involved in fire and EMS, I scrap by "stories". You can see from the first photo on this page the bright yellow and orange flames through the door. I chose to exaggerate that by matting in the same colors. Again I tied in a "theme" by the fire knots. Again, a headline from a local papers says it all, no real journaling is needed. Action shots like this tell the story.

It is hard to see from this photo but the " I " in the word involved has bright orange glitter on it and of course, it is a different font and larger size to make it stand out. Even with a simply page, one item can draw your eye.

A sidebar was created simply by cutting a piece
of fire service paper (non SU). By placing this
one photo on a large mat and having both askew adds some visual interest. Again I am keeping to a simple color theme, letting the photos do the work. Another fire knot for accent, the computer generated journaling is matted in yellow. This simple theme of red, yellow, black keeps your interest on the photos.

Thoughts on Scrappin'

I get lots of questions about my scrapbooks so I'm going to try to answer them in todays post.
How to get started. I believe you look at your photos and get a "feel". I usually scrap by "event" As an example, this is a combination of newspapers clippings and photos from a local fire. My nephew (isn't he cute!!) is a chief with a local department and was captured by the local photog.
So, if you look at this page, I wanted to create a "feel". The colors of fire are yellow, orange and red, so I started with that. I simply tore paper to look like flames and laid them on top of each other, then adhered the news header. Easy peasy. This give a great deal of color to the page since I chose black as the background color. I did this because, unfortunately there was a fatality. I wanted to create the tone or mood of the seriousness. Action shots are priceless--
I left a simple white border on one photo, used

yellow to differentiate the second photo. I would

not even have to journal, you would understand

what was happening, but I chose to put his fire

"identifier" at the bottom. Clean and simple-

One of the reasons I began stamping and scrapping is that it unleashed the inner child in me. I could color and paint and even go outside the lines if I wanted. These photos are of Johanna, our granddaughter, who obviously feels the same way. She made a special card for her Grampy!

Here's a card that I made recently. It is on watercolor paper and then I "floated in" a colored frame around the edge. It is hard to see but the tiniest amount of Dazzling Diamonds glitter adds just a bit of sparkle to make it pop. All the colors were coordinated to match the Designer Series Paper. Memorial Day

On this Memorial Day, my thoughts turn to all the soldiers of our country stationed all around the world. I pray for your safe return and hope that the day will come soon you will be reunited with your families.
My Dad was a Navy vet during the Korean Conflict, my husband served during the Vietnam War. I am grateful and respectful of their service and all the men and women serving and protecting us now.

Mother's Day Classes

This is such a busy time of year and very sad for me. My Mom's birthday is May 2. And, (just in case you forgot) Mother's Day is May 10th. I SO miss not having her here. Even after 6 years, sometimes I go to pick up the phone to call her and tell her about my latest accomplishment. But I believe she sees them. In honor of her, I have planned adorable projects for my Mother's Day class. Do you have a special aunt, special friend or some wonderful woman in your life? Come and make several items including cards & a Big Shot gift box for trinkets. The date is Friday evening May 8th, 7pm. Well, I think I finally have most of my computer back, at least what CAN be retrieved. Please check my calendar, many of my classes are now up. You will see a Paypal button on the upper left side. As we spoke about, planning for classes necessitates cutting cardstock and ordering some supplies. If someone tells me they are coming and then they don't, that is money (and much effort) so all classes will be prepaid. If you have any questions about Paypal, feel free to contact me but I've used with without fail for many years. Thousands and thousands of demo's use it, along with other types of businesses. I LOVE it.

I know you have all been patiently waiting for the April class. Please bear with me for another day or two. My computer died, I had it completely formatted thinking I had a complete backup and when I went to put the backup on, it was completely empty. It had FAILED.
Can you hear me crying and groaning. I promise in the next day or two I will have not only the April class (which I will offer twice, once on a weekend and one weeknight) AND the May class, which will be offered early, in time for Mother's Day gifts. Thank you for your patience!!

Well Sale-a-Bration is over but I got SO many freebies (thank you SU!) that now I have some great stamps and beautiful papers and ribbons to use. I will be helping my downline with a presentation this week and we needed a quick and easy project to share with the ladies. This photo wallet fit the bill (pardon the pun-LOL) Since SU now posts coordinating ink colors that match their Designer Papers, it was easy as pie to complete this project. It was a little hard to get any side views of this project, but it all folds up compactly to pop into a purse or give to a friend. Hope you like it. Check the back of your catalog to see what yummy papers YOU would want to use. Don't have a catalog--check the link on my blog, or, if you live near me, I'll drop one off!

Here are some additional photos from our cruise, a cove in St. Thomas and one of a sailboat between two outcroppings that I call my "perfect" photo. It looks like something on a postcard and will be blown up to a larger size for my scrapbook page. The other photo is another artsy-fartsy, of a catamaran sail, unfurled.

The photo to the left was one of the schoolgirls in St. Kitts. In most of the Caribbean, schoolchildren wear uniforms as they are expected to pay full attention to their studies, not what they are wearing. Many of the uniforms are similar but they wear patches that identify the particular school they attend. Our guide informed us that is why the children are well behaved--because their uniforms give them away, even when they are out of school.

Well, we're back from vacation and I'm proud of myself. I usually take over a thousand photos (love digital!) but I was much more selective this trip and only took 400+. My friend Donna almost gagged when I told her I "restrained" myself.
We cruised from Ft. Lauderdale and went to: St Kitts and Nevis, St Lucia, Barbados, Antigua, St Thomas, St John and Princess Cay. We normally travel on Celebrity but decided to try Princess due to the itinerary. We were not disappointed. This ship had 4 (count 'em) pools, a huge movie screen over one of the pools for "Movies Under the Stars" and many other great things. I couldn't believe they had the most recent movies. We saw Australia, Doubt, and Slumdog Millionnaire among others. I told Jack it was good we came because I saved about $30.00 on movie tickets alone! I don't think he bought it.....
